This Privacy Policy explains how TakedownX collects, uses, discloses, and safeguards personal information when you use our website and services. By using our services, you agree to the terms of this policy.

  • Account information: Name, email address, legal name (for DMCA purposes), and mailing address when you register or sign our DMCA Authorization Agreement.
  • Billing information: Processed securely by Stripe. We do not store full card numbers.
  • Content: Images, videos, and metadata you upload for fingerprinting and monitoring.
  • DMCA-related data: Takedown requests, certifications, evidence documentation, and correspondence with platforms.
  • Log data: IP address, device information, timestamps, and user agent for security and audit purposes.
  • Analytics: Usage data via Google Analytics (only after you consent).

2. How We Use Information

  • Provide and improve the service (fingerprinting, monitoring, and DMCA takedown workflows)
  • Process payments and manage subscriptions via Stripe
  • File DMCA takedown notices on your behalf with third-party platforms
  • Maintain evidence and audit trails for legal compliance
  • Secure the service, prevent fraud, and enforce our Terms
  • Communicate service updates and support responses

3. DMCA Data Sharing

When you use our DMCA takedown services, we share certain information with third-party platforms as required to file takedown notices:

Information Shared with Platforms

  • Your legal name (as the copyright owner or authorized representative)
  • Contact email address
  • Mailing address (when required by the platform)
  • Description of copyrighted work
  • URLs of allegedly infringing content
  • Digital fingerprints/hashes of your original content
  • Evidence documentation (screenshots, links to originals)

Platforms We Share With

We share data only with platforms hosting allegedly infringing content, including but not limited to: Reddit, Twitter/X, Pornhub, XVideos, XHamster, and other content hosting platforms.

Legal Basis for Sharing

This sharing is necessary to perform the DMCA takedown service you requested (contract) and to comply with legal requirements under 17 U.S.C. § 512.


4. Data Retention

  • Account data: Retained while your account is active, deleted upon account deletion (subject to legal holds)
  • DMCA records: Retained for 6 years minimum to comply with legal requirements and defend against potential claims
  • Audit logs: Retained for 3 years for security and compliance purposes
  • Content fingerprints: Retained while your account is active for ongoing monitoring

  • Contract: To provide the services you request, including DMCA takedowns
  • Legal obligation: To maintain DMCA records and comply with copyright law
  • Legitimate interests: Service security, fraud prevention, and product improvement
  • Consent: Analytics cookies and marketing communications

6. Your Rights

Depending on your location, you may have the following rights:

  • Access: Request a copy of your personal data
  • Correction: Request correction of inaccurate data
  • Deletion: Request deletion of your data (subject to legal retention requirements)
  • Portability: Request your data in a portable format
  • Objection: Object to certain processing activities

⚠️ Note: DMCA-related records may be retained even after account deletion to comply with legal requirements.


7. International Transfers

Your data may be transferred to and processed in the United States, where our servers are located. For EU/UK users, we rely on Standard Contractual Clauses and other appropriate safeguards for international data transfers.
